Hard to believe the 2008 Cyclocross season is already upon us. Racing begins September 13th and runs all the way into December. There should be no problem catching a race every weekend this fall with The PA Cyclocross Series, The MAC Series, and The MABRA events all within a short drive from the Harrisburg area.
Don Kessel, Kyle Hammaker, and Mike Hebe had some impressive results last season and we're hoping for better this season.
Don will be racing his Salsa Chili Con Crosso and loving it and using a Giant TCX as a back-up. "Best 'cross bike ever!", he says, refering to the Salsa. While Kyle will be rockin a pair of Trek XO's all season with positive feedback as well.
Stop by Holmes' Cycling to check out the latest offerings from Trek, Giant, Bianchi, and Salsa. We can help with any CX accessories you might need as well. Tires, wheels, gearing, you name it.
Look for Don, Kyle, and Mike at a race in near you this fall. Don't hesitate to ask a question at the races or at the store.
To find races near you welcoming racers of all abilities please follow the links to both the PA Cyclocross Series and the MAC Series . Another great place to start is the Mid-Atlantic Cross site which gives a full schedule and a ton of answers to any of your questions.
HBC schedules over 1000 rides a year at all ability and experience levels; leaving from Hershey to the East, historic Carlisle to the West, and other sites in between.
From the challenging Blue Mountain to our North to the rolling Amish country around Lancaster we are constantly exploring the beautiful back roads (over 600 miles in Cumberland County alone) that lace the broad area that our club calls home.
The Lancaster Bicycle Club is a road based recreational club for cyclists of all levels.
Members enjoy the many benefits of organized bicycling in a supportive environment. The club carefully plans rides and related events that result in self-confidence, physical fitness and improved technical skills. Members support and encourage each other, learn from each other, and enjoy the fellowship associated with LBC membership.
Members span all age and skill levels. Some are experienced cyclists who pursue bicycling as their primary hobby or physical fitness outlet. Others are beginners seeking to improve their skills. Cyclists under 16 years of age are required to have an adult family member accompany them on rides.

We will provide information, education and support to Central Pennsylvania mountain bikes.
RCST is a mountain bike club that rides and maintains a network of trails in Weiser State Forest and Lykens Borough Watershed, a Central Pennsylvania forest located near Elizabethville and Lykens. You can find a club member riding nearly every weekend in good weather (and some in bad weather too!). Any one of them would be happy to show you the trails. Club members are young, not-so-young, male, female, and all skill levels. Some race, some wish they could, and some just enjoy being in the woods and take their good old time on rides.
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a nonprofit organization working with communities to preserve unused rail corridors by transforming them into trails, enhancing the health of America's environment, economy, neighborhoods and people.
